Well this is my first post in regards to my upcoming motorcycle adventure across the Americas. I am not the best writer so I will also include lots of pictures. I have always wanted to travel but out of the ideas which crossed my mind from relaxing on the beaches in Thailand to serving beers at a pub in London, these were ideas which weren’t appealing enough for me to find the energy and make it happen. Then about six months ago I was daydreaming when it hit me, I will put all of my hobbies and goals into one adventure. My hobbies are motorbikes & enduro riding, meeting new people etc, the usual stuff. My goals are to learn Spanish, see a lot of cool stuff, and experience something far different from Melbourne, where I have grown up.
So of course, I will go on a motorcycle adventure throughout Latin America. The other main reason is well, I love tacos, hooray! Now to put the planning down of what I have created in my head.
I have decided on a basic route but I do not want to stick to any tight regime, if I like a place I plan to stay for a while and if not I will move on. The following countries are the ones I intend on visiting in the same order:
- USA
- Mexico
- Belize
- Guatemala
- Honduras
- El Salvador
- Nicaragua
- Costa Rica
- Panama
- Colombia
- Venezuela
- Ecuador
- Peru
- Bolivia
- Chile
- Argentina
I have many cities in mind too but that is only speculation at this stage, either way my route will look something like this:

NO LONGER CURRENT!
As you can see I used cool text to make it more exciting. The final stop will be at Tierra del Fuego which translates to ‘Land of the Fire’ in English. This is a very long way and when I enter it into Google Earth it showed as approximately 15,000km not to mention the climate will go from one extreme to the other, from the deserts of the USA to the glaciers at the bottom of Argentina.
In a nutshell that is my upcoming journey, hopefully all will go to plan and this blog will be a very exciting place with many photos of remote places and interesting stories in the not-so-distant future.
My next post will be of the equipment which will support my journey and of course, the only motorcycle suitable for a trip such as this (on my budget of course).
Awesome Goal. Good Luck.
Makes me want to do something like this too.
